No one likes getting spots and some people get them more than others. They normally occur in their greatest frequency during our teenage years and into our twenties. They can occur later than that, but that is generally uncommon.
Unfortunately, some of us suffer from a more extreme case of spots called acne. Acne is caused by blockages of excess oil and dead skin in the pores of the face, neck shoulders and back. It is aggravated by a bacterium that thrives in these conditions.
The main concern of those suffering from Acne is how to get rid of it. There are many methods that can be employed to reduce the outbreak of Acne but there are also methods that must be addressed to ensure it does not get worse, these include;
Do not pick at the spots – Picking at the spots can spread the bacteria and could also cause scarring.
Hair touching the face – If you use oily hair products and your hair is constantly touching your face, this can aggravate an outbreak.
Working in the wrong environments – Working in damp or greasy environments can affect your acne problem.
The good news is that there are plenty of methods for assisting recovery. These include;
An effective twice daily face care routine – This should consist of washing with a gentle cleanser and washing the face when it becomes sweaty. Use an oil free water based moisturiser, this can help keep the skin hydrated.
Drink enough water
Eat a healthy balanced diet consisting of lots of fruit and vegetables.
Ensure stress levels are kept to a minimum.
Ensure that enough sleep and rest is taken each night.
Use an over the counter acne medication or acne cream.
If an over the counter acne medication or acne cream is not working after eight weeks or so, then consult your doctor. Your Doctor may be able to provide medication especially if the acne is having a psychological effect on your life.
