What Is A Chi Machine

A Chi Machine is especially useful to you if you're either of these:

Short of time to work out.
Recuperating from sickness or injury.
Are fragile or elderly.
Suffer some other personal problem that prevents you having normal exercise.

As I've been using a Chi Machine for two yrs now. I've received a refreshing freedom of movement, better vitality and a good deal less pain and soreness. Taking a session on my Chi Machine almost no effort - all I have to do is to lie down, place my feet in the ankle cradles and unwind. During the session my legs are softly swung left to right. I practice this once a day for about fifteen minutes in the comfort of my own place.

In my experience, selecting the correct Chi Machine is really important – I've tested a selection of models - and have a few pointers to guide you.

It should be well-built with a broad base.
Have padded or soft surfaced ankle cradles.
Have at least a 40 watt motor.
Allow you to adjust the speed - with a good range of speeds.
Have a timer function.
Have a well-designed hand control (or "Remote").

The size of the base should be wide so that it will be steady during your session. The ankle cradles should be cushioned to prevent abrasion and discomfort while your legs are being rocked sidewise. Some machines have hard plastic ankle cradles but if you can't relax, it's difficult to enjoy the ride. And if you can not loosen up and enjoy, in my experience it's unlikely that the tension-release you're looking for will happen.
The motor should be strong so that not only will it last a long time – but will run agreeably smooth during its operation. It seems that the DC motor used in my Chi Machine is also important in that it is technically easier to provide the adjustable speed controls it offers. A lot of Chi Machines have AC motors which are not only more light-weight, but don't have precisely adjustable speed controls because it's technically difficult to do so.
Variable speeds are required if you want your Chi Machine to provide the Lymphatic drainage benefits (best at low speeds) as well as the Aerobic benefits (circulation and oxygenation – best at higher speeds). If this is combined with a timer or "auto" function – you need only set at the beginning of your session – and can then forget the time and enjoy.
The hand control or "remote" is essential if you choose to change speeds, or alter the length of time during your session. If you get interrupted you can avoid having to make sudden awkward movements which could cause discomfort.
Here are a few of the benefits that the correct use of a good caliber Chi Machine could bring you:

An increase in vitality levels.
A sense of well-being.
Increased flexibility.
Ease of stress.
Healthier circulation.
Better immune system function.
Better alignment of spinal column.
Decreased nerve pain and muscle tiredness.

In conclusion, always make certain to purchase from a respectable company, and make certain to abide by their usage instructions. I notice it's advisable to revisit the instructions every now and then because it's easy to fall into a routine and forget all the choices available.
