What Is A Nintendo Ds?

The DS is Nintendo's newest Game Boy; in size it is a bit chunkier than the original Game Boy Advance. While it's much too big to fit into your pocket it will go easily into a backpack. And since both hands are required to play it, the extra weight of 275 grams is easily absorbed.

The front of the unit holds the volume control, headphone connectors, mike and GBA cartridge slot, while the back of the unit is home to those other necessary components like the AC adaptor slot, DS game slot and shoulder buttons. Dual slots mean that you can play your existing GBA games as well as the new, smaller game cards.

The DS has many innovative features and the two backlit screens are both pleasingly clear and bright, with no white glow as is seen with the front-lit GBA SP's. The stereo speakers make for some cool effects with certain games, such as the sound of a door closing behind you. With touch screen, wireless, dual display and microphone capabilities the DS is sure to please fans. Battery power is important of course and this one will give you 6 hours of play before the warning light comes on - and then a further 40 minutes before the juice dries up completely.
