What's A Calling And How Does It Support Your Life Purpose?
You may be more familiar with the term "calling," as something someone "answers" like a religious call to serve or a military call to duty. However, in its most basic form, a calling is primarily a change that occurs in the sub-conscious. And while we often talk of a calling in the context of careers, vocation is just one of many ways our life's purpose can express itself.
What's more, new research shows that we experience multiple callings throughout our life. Callings are interrelated, mutually supportive and nested, much like Russian Matryoshka dolls. There can even be two or more active at the same time!
If you live with the commonly held idea that you have just one calling, you will inevitably, and inadvertently, fight or dismiss the others calling you at the same time - an all too common problem we see at True Callings.
Like stepping stones, each calling moves us progressively in the direction of living our life's purpose, drawing out from within us capacities, passions and unknown strengths, while drawing toward us what we need to fulfill that leg of our journey.
Callings help our innate but unseen resources surface, while creating the opportunities for us to put them to work so that they become obvious and evident. Since what is inside us is often invisible, it can be tough to believe in our own genius and magic. So that's another reason why callings exist: to help us see and know ourselves.
For some, the discovery of our callings or life purpose can sometimes be as simple as a paper and pen exercise, where you ask yourself repeatedly 'Why am I here? What's my reason for existing?' until you're moved to tears of realization.
For others, knowing is more elusive, and for good reason.
See, most assume that once they arrive at an understanding of what they're up to in life (to serve, to motivate, to impact, to inspire), it's smooth sailing from there. But the truth is its one thing to know why you're here, but something else entirely to live it every day.
Knowing isn't living, and the latest research indicates that learning how to navigate your callings, as opposed to knowing one's purpose, is the key to living a meaningful life.
Which is why True Callings programs take an entirely different approach to helping you find, follow and fulfill your callings.
It begins with learning how to distinguish your inner True Callings Compass. This process provides you with a living tool that helps you understand the seven essential internal elements that make up your inner sense of orientation to move you in the direction of your life's purpose. It then helps you learn how to use your multifunctional Callings Compass to distinguish direction and navigate your life successfully, calling to calling - defining the Why of your life, which turns on the Will, which helps you discover your Way to reach your best "WOW life!"
