What's The Word? Change…accept It Or Get Left Behind And Fade Away.
I have the wonderful opportunity to work at our church's pre-school this year. I have always admired teachers, they make such an impact on our children…they have patience of a saint and can keep a classroom of 25 kids under control…And now working in a pre-school…teachers really are saints! Part of teaching, as with many professions, is you need to attend seminars or workshops to keep your skills updated and sharp. I had the pleasure of attending such a work shop where the theme was centered around taking care of yourself so you can take care of your students. The main part of this was accepting "change". Something that is very hard for most of us to do. We are such creatures of habit. Another favorite old saying…"Whadda mean - I should be doing it this way, but that is not the way I've been doing it for the past 30 years!" Ok -that’s more of a statement - but how many times have we heard that one? Or said it for that matter! The biggest thing I got from this seminar is that if we as parents do not accept and deal with the changes that life is giving us right now - how are we going to teach how to change to our children? How are we then going to teach them to adapt? So many stories over the past two years and so many analysts have said it has been many, many years since seen the economy has made such changes in our life. For example, before, it was expected that you had one career in your life. You worked for the same company for 30 years. If you didn't, you were unstable and not desirable as an employee. I don't think that is the case anymore. How many people do you know that have been out of work within the past year or two…and are still looking? We not only have to find new jobs, we have to find new career paths. Something many of us are not accustomed to. We have to try new ways to earn a living. Many us of are trying to turn our hobbies into small business. But how do you market them? Not everyone is an born online marketer. In the past decade, the internet has opened up a whole new world of change. Not only in the way we do business, but by the way we really connect to the world. People are becoming more aware of the environment and the effects we have on it. People are becoming more aware of other nations, cities, families. It's like we are waking up from a long winter's sleep and finding out what 's going on with our neighbors in other places. People are reaching out more than ever to learn from each other and network. The internet has lent its hand as the tool of change. How are you with changing? Do you embrace it , take it slowly or just refuse it? I am a fortunate enough to be a part a wonderful groups of Ladies - The A-List Ladies. We have come together from all walks of life from all over the country - to help each other make a change in our lives by learning online marketing. Then pass it on to any women who also wants to learn and obtain financial freedom.
