What To Consider When Buying Used Caravan Awnings

The following are just three things for you may want to consider before buying used caravan awnings, I’m sure there’s plenty more you can think of when looking for a bargain.

Do you really NEED a caravan awning? This may sound like a simple question but remember these awnings are expensive, heavy and more important there difficult to put up and take down. In some cases you can spend 2 to 3 hours putting these things up, so it’s not something you want to be doing for a weekend trip. Caravan awnings are an ideal purchase to those people who want to park their caravan permanently at one site, or take week, or weeks, long holidays just lounging about. If you’re the type of caravanners that enjoys weekend breaks and likes to explore new areas spending most of the day away from the camp site, then extending your caravan space may not be something that is of priority to yourself.

New or used caravan awnings used awning? After buying your first caravan you find out that caravanning is only an inexpensive way to have a holiday after the first year and you have bought everything you need for a good holiday. Purchasing a new caravan awning will be very expensive especially when just starting out but a used caravan awning can save your hundreds of pounds. Saving money on extras like the awning can be great but the amount you’ll save will depend a lot on the make and model obviously but maybe not so obvious will be the time of year you buy it. During the summer in the UK you’ll most likely find many used caravanning awnings for sale, buts it may be during the winter months were you’ll find the best bargains.

Where should you buy a used caravan awning? There are three good places to consider when buying used caravan awnings. The first and most obvious would be friends and other caravanners, but getting a good bargain from your friends is often difficult. On the plus side however you will know how the awning has been care for over the years and probably seen it erected a few times. Second would be your local caravan dealer but remember retailers can only stay in business if they make a profit from what they sell. The third, and best place in my opinion, would be eBay. You as a buyer have the greatest control over how much you want to spend, the make and model you want and you have the ability of grabbing a bargain.
