What You Need To Enjoy The Best Golf Breaks In The Uk

When you’re thinking of booking golf breaks, you want your holiday to meet certain criteria.

Location
One of the first concerns when you take a golf break is the location. You want somewhere that’s easy to reach and set in beautiful countryside. You also want lots of nearby entertainment and facilities. This way you can bring your family. If they’re not interested in golf, they’ll have plenty to do while you’re playing.

Courses
The other element you need on golf breaks is a little variety. It can be fun to play on the same course for a few days, but it’s useful to have some choice.

Ideally, you want a course that’s one of the best in the UK. Alongside this, you may fancy a less demanding course on which to practice your skills. It’s also helpful if there’s a driving range so you can work on your golf swing.

Accommodation
Accommodation is important. An en suite bedroom in a three star hotel with a good selection of amenities usually fits the bill. You also want great quality food so you can relax comfortably and concentrate on your golf.

If your family has come with you, you want free access to leisure facilities. These should include a swimming pool, sauna, spa and gym.

Packages
It’s not always convenient to book golf breaks in advance. Instead, an opportunity may come up to get away at short notice. In this instance, you want to be able to book great value last minute deals. And you still want the same level of service and quality as you’d receive for an advance booking.

Conferences
It’s possible you may be responsible for booking a corporate conference. If so, it’s a great idea to combine this with a golfing competition.

You therefore want a suitable conference venue with nearby access to at least one golf course. You can then structure the conference to allow delegates to both work and play golf.

Dartmouth
The Dartmouth Golf and Country Club meets all the above criteria. The location in Devon is stunning; the championship course has received the accolade of being one of the top 80 courses in the UK and Ireland; and there’s an additional 18-hole course and a driving range.

These combine with excellent hotel accommodation and conference facilities to give you golf breaks you’ll always remember.
