Words change the course of history. If you are earnestly trying to improve your life, you must be aware that your words will contribute to the shaping of your future.
An NLP practitioner will often teach how a person’s speech will reveal how they are processing their internal world. Just saying goodbye may reveal part of person’s character. For example they could express goodbye in a number of ways...
Visually - I'll see you later
Auditory - Good to hear from you
Kinaesthetically - Stay in touch
In a similar way to this classic model, our words are inseparably connected to our faith. A person with great faith, or lack of it, will be easily detected through their speech. If you listen to a person whilst they are talking of their own abilities or when talking of the future, the degree of their faith will be demonstrated.
If a person is upbeat and positive in their use of language when talking of the future, words such as...
I will, can, yes or definitely, only then can you be sure they have a lot of faith. Associate with such people, it will rub off on you. Always do your best to use positive, faithful words.
If a person is using an excessive amount of ... Won't, can't, don't, no, never or but, then you can be certain that they are very much a doubter. Avoid going into partnerships, business or personal with people like this.
If you are one of these negative people, thankfully you can change with some effort on your part.
The first thing you should do is follow Napoleon Hill's advice and go cut the word "Impossible" out of your dictionary. Take this as literally or metaphorically as you like, but heed his message, that there is no such thing as impossible. In reality the only limits you have are the ones you impose upon yourself. You must rid yourself of the very concept of impossibility. Never talk of something being impossible or too hard to accomplish again.
Know and believe that anything is possible including your chances of success. Let your words be an indication of things that haven't come to pass yet, but are surely on their way. Never let a doubting word take control, let others be shocked with your faithful claims, even if you have nothing to prove it at present.
Faithful words are a huge ingredient in the deliberate creative process! "And God SAID, Let there be light: and there was light" - Genesis1:3.
Who cannot see, that if God framed the worlds by faith, that faith is the principle of power? And if the principle of power, it must be so in man as well as in the Deity? This is the testimony of all the sacred writers and the lesson which they have been endeavouring to teach to man. We here understand, that the sacred writers say that all these things were done by faith. It was by faith that the worlds were framed. God SPAKE, chaos heard, and worlds came into order by reason of the faith there was in Him, so with man also. - Joseph Smith (The lectures on faith, Lesson 1)
"For verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, YE SHALL SAY unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place,' and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you" - Matthew 17:20. It seems even the elements will obey our command if we have unwavering faith.
If you can cultivate a spirit of faith, those feelings and thoughts will be expressed in your choice of words. Did you ever wonder how prophecy works? How some seem to be able to predict the future with accuracy? Here's a little known secret. Prophecy is not based on guesswork or even careful prediction of what is probable. The events occur because the person had the faith to say it!
Direct your intentions by using the powerful tool of utterance. In boldly declaring things yet to transpire and mixed with faith that it will happen, it is sure to take place. Be warned this is true of both positive and negative statements, hence why you must be careful with your words. If you say can't, you won’t. If you say you can, you will.
