When Do I Need Strollers For Toddlers?

Taking your toddler out on the town is probably one of the most enjoyable, yet hassle filled events you can experience. By the time you pack up everything that your child needs, you will often wonder why you ever wanted to leave the house in the first place. Nevertheless, we all push forward and take our children out in the real world to run endless errands, make it to our appointments, and of course, the occasional play date.

Many parents, like me, have found one of the key factors in any successful outing is having the right toddler stroller. A good toddler stroller is a product that you will find yourself using with great frequency, and it will quickly establish itself as an indispensible item. You can easily do away with all the “must have gadgets”, but a good sturdy toddler stroller will bring you years of convenience and will help to keep your toddler happy on your daily outings.

The best time to start your search for the perfect toddler stroller is when your child starts to walk. Up until this point, your child is easily carried in your arms. When your arms start to tire or you are needed for another task, your child can easily be passed to any willing relative or friend. There will be an endless supply of these people available to you as long as your little one is content with this situation, and doesn’t offer any resistance!

Once your child abandons the art of crawling and starts exploring their surroundings on two feet, they are not as willing to be passed around like a hot potato. Your child has reached a milestone where they are definitely going to want some more independence, so why not let them enjoy it? Since we don’t know when the big walking moment will actually arrive, it’s always a good idea to be prepared. Once your child starts to walk, there will be no stopping them.

Keep a keen eye on your little one and look for signs that they are getting ready to stand up and go. You may notice your child is attempting to stand by pulling themselves up using furniture. Some may waddle around while you hold their fingers and offer a little support. When you see these signs, it’s time to start shopping for a toddler stroller. It’s also time to “toddler proof” the house! Happy shopping!
