Where To Get Help Quit Smoking Marijuana

The first step to quitting marijuana is in admitting you have a problem. And that is hard, and treatment from there only gets harder for quite some time. Now, before you turn your computer off and roll a spliff; read on. It is possible; it needs a lot of determination and help. But where can you go to get help quit smoking marijuana?

The first step would obviously be to go to your loved ones; friends; family and colleagues. However, some of these may not be practical of course whilst others may have spurned you.

However, you should at least give those that know you best the chance to say, “No, I do not want to help you.” Those that really care will be only too happy to help you. If they are not, are they really worth all that?

That you have recognized the issue should be enough to convince them you are serious. But bear in mind, they may not be so amiable should you fall off the wagon. This in itself can be a positive or negative; depending on you and your mental state.

There are of course many ways in which you can proactively help yourself. First amongst these would be to remove yourself from situations where you would usually have a smoke.

However, if you are likely to smoke at home alone, more drastic measures will need to be taken of course. Try to get a hobby, take up a sport, and even get a dog that you have to walk often. Anything that you can use as an excuse NOT to roll really; except other drugs of course! This may sound a flippant remark, but it is honestly something to be aware of.

Of course, your doctor can also provide you with many avenues to seek help; whether through support groups or simply for advice on how you can improve your lifestyle. They are duty bound to treat all consultations in the strictest of confidence; just get your butt in gear and talk to them.

Don’t be soft on yourself either; be strict. If you let yourself down, discipline yourself. Conversely, reward yourself when things are going well. Just because you are aware of the reward/punishment factor, doesn’t mean it won’t be successful.
