Where Did Toning Shoes Come From?

Toning shoes are the latest trend sweeping the country, and by now most people have probably seen men and women sporting them all over from day to day. Some thoughts may come to mind regarding toning shoes when you notice men and women wearing these. Do they perform well? Who actually found the very idea of this boot that can help you become in shape? Where did they come from?

I would really like to deal with the final query in this article and it actually starts with back problems. A series of events led Swiss engineer Karl Muller to ask what exactly divided those who have back problems from individuals that live fortunately without it. He went on vacation one year in South Korea and realized that only a few of the local people suffered with back issues. Exactly what did these people have in common? Well, they were pretty much all farmers and they also spent a lot of the working day in the field - without footwear.

This gave Muller a couple of likely notions pertaining to causes of back pain. First of all, being outdoors farming in the field, they were not likely walking on as many hard surfaces as our culture does. From the paved streets and concrete sidewalks to the tile in our residences and office buildings, we all spend lots of time standing and treading upon hard surface types. Next, these folks were without shoes. Boots or shoes work as defense against the types of surface all of us step on and also help prevent the spread of certain medical conditions, but could it be feasible that they were not necessarily all that suitable for spinal alignment?

Muller took this idea back with him and jumped right into the entire process of constructing a boot that mimicked as carefully as it possibly can the experience created by walking without footwear on an irregular or soft sand surface. The product was then rebranded accompanied by an image of a youthful African (presumably from the Masai tribe) man and marketed as MBT (or Masai Barefoot Technology).
