Whether It’s Basking On The Beaches, Windsurfing, Golf Or Wining And Dining, A Holiday To Fuerteventura Will Not Let You Down

Fuerteventura is one of the Canary Islands in the Atlantic off the coast of Africa. This ideal location means the weather in Fuerteventura is good all year round. The weather conditions also make this a great destination with surfers, the wind and swell of the sea providing plenty of waves. The clear Atlantic waters and local sea life make fishing, sailing and diving popular activities. Fuerteventura is home to the windsurfing world championships and enthusiasts rate it as one of the best places in the world for windsurfing. Playa Barca has a reputation as a great resort for those interested in water sports.

Corralejo is the largest holiday resort in the north of Fuerteventura. This former fishing town is now a bustling harbour that provides a transport link to neighbouring Lanzarote. The nearby beach is a secluded nature reserve, perfect for some peaceful sunbathing. The resort itself has a main promenade lined with cafes and restaurants. From the port is a regular ferry to Lanzarote. The sheltered beaches are distinctively lined by volcanic rock and as with all the Canary Islands, the landscape is distinctively that of volcanic origin.

Situated in Antigua, a championship golf course enables travellers to play golf in the brilliant local climate. The whole island is well developed and has a range of shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants.

Fuerteventura has an incredible range of territory spanning wide beaches, incredible sand dunes, lagoons and rocky outcrops. The considerable population of dolphins and turtles make Scuba diving an interesting way to spend a day.

The Jandia Peninsula is an interesting part of the island with around 20km of clean sandy beach that is a protected nature reserve. This is a beautiful part of the island and well worth exploring. Journey further inland and the mountainous landscapes betray the volcanic history of Fuerteventura.

Travelling around the island is best done in a hire car, this is a cheap convenient way to traverse the island. Notable places to visit include the tiny villages of Fuerteventura. They are interesting places and are well worth exploring. Larger places like, Costa Calma and Jandia are located just outside of Playa Barca and these small towns offer various entertainment.
