Which Side Effects Do Your Anxiety Drugs Have?

Anxiety is a condition that billions of people suffer from. Some require anxiety drugs, and some do not. Those that do are presented with a lot of different options to help treat their symptoms. The right anti anxiety drug is able to get rid of the symptoms altogether. The only problem for many is finding what works, especially when seeking out prescription medication methods.

One of the more popular anxiety drugs is one that many people have tried, Zoloft. This particular drug has been around for quite sometime and has proved it's success amongst a good bit of people. However, with every positive benefit, there is a negative one that seems to follow. Zoloft helps people to feel more at ease by correcting certain chemical imbalances in the brain.

It also helps people to cope with feelings of depression. It's usual side effects include severe headache, chills, insomnia, decreased sexual desire, diarrhea, nausea, and sleepiness. There have also been claims of thoughts of suicide.

Another very popular of the anxiety drugs can be taken to help soothe the panic attacks often associated with anxiety disorder. This medication is a benzodiazepine known as Xanax. It is known to cause a temporary calming effect by enhancing a natural chemical in the body known as GABA. This medication, as stated, only produces a temporary calm.

This means that in order to sustain that feeling, this medication usually has to be taken several times per day. Over time, people can begin to develop a tolerance for this type of anti anxiety drug, which means they usually have to take more to obtain the same level of calm they started off with.

This type of behavior can easily lead to abuse and drug addiction, which most of the time never has a happy ending. Mixing this medication with certain other drugs can produce a very fatal result. Side effects of Xanax are clumsiness, slurred speech, trouble walking, decreased sex drive, trouble swallowing, irritability, and mood changes. Xanax should be taken only under very close supervision.

Most other prescription anxiety drugs have similar side effects to those listed above. It is great that the medications can work to clear up some of the problem, but not everyone wants all of the excess baggage. For people who are tired of taking prescription pills to cover up their symptoms, it may be time to try something completely new. Natural methods for anxiety do not contain side effects, and that is why they are natural.

Our bodies will openly accept something that is natural over something chemical. You may have heard of some popular medications for reducing anxiety symptoms but may have not ever considered them before. Some of those natural drugs for anxiety include Sam-e, Passion Flower, Valerian Root, 5HTP, and St. John's Wort.

These anxiety drugs work exactly the way prescription medications do except without the side effects. If you do your research, you will find that the success rate of these medications are also much higher than those mentioned above.
