Which Is More Fun: Shopping For Insurance Or Buying Shoes-the Debate Rages On
One nice way to relax on a lovely Saturday afternoon is looking over all the different plans and options available with insurance coverage. I can't imagine anything quite so exciting. Shopping at a shoe sale, not even close. Who wants to spend the day parading back and forth in one toe pinching, colorful procession of last minute bargains when there is life altering information to be had on various handy websites. Instead of wasting money on those shiny red wedges I am planning my family's future protection and deciding on how many doctor visits that they will probably be getting next year.
There is so much information to look over about all the different companies and plans, it is almost as fun as one of those mini seminars you get to attend for work. I can read all about how permanent life insurance will allow me to actually save money and grows in value. Or I can look at term life and imagine how many years that I might want to get that to cover my crew. You could even get the term life and put the money you save into an account to make better interest than if you had the whole life. Oh the possibilities! It's almost like wondering whether those cheetah print pumps will really go with that awesome red skirt that I bought last week. Or do I really want to put them with the black pedal pushers, and keep it subdued?
Onward in my adventure, I hit the health insurance section of my trip. It has even more possibilities that the life stuff. I am faced with one plan that will let me go to my regular doctor all the time but I might have to jump through hoops to get to a specialist. At least getting quotes are easy. they take the info and give you a general idea of what different plans will cost. Of course me, being a bit of a fan of the old method known as shopping around, has to look for some bargains or sales. Hals the fun is in the hunt.
Bargains in insurance will almost always mean less benefits. The idea I am wrestling with now has to do with what will fit my family better. If I pick the plan with a high deductible I can get qualified for a health savings account. That will save money on taxes and it will keep safe and grow with interest until I hit retirement age. But If I want my time with the doctor covered immediately it will cost a high monthly premium.
Insurance shopping wins the prize for a many faceted complicated product. I am now convinced more than ever that my next step will be contacting an agent in my area and grill them on what I need to know. I have enjoyed my cozy couch time with my laptop and now feel the need to jump up and get out before all my favorite stores close. Look out shoes, here I come!
Shopping for health insurance can be done simply while relaxing on the couch. You can drink your coffee and read about all the different health insurance plans.
