Who Is The Smallest Person In The World?
The shortest person ever to have existed is Gul Mohammed who was born in India. He is only one foot and ten and a half inches tall! Unfortunately he died in 1999 due to a respiratory problem (bronchitus and asthma) that was caused by heavy smoking, but his height may have also has an affect on the respiratory condition. He lived to be forty years old which is extraordinary compared to people of similar heights. He suffered from primordial dwarfism leading to below adequate levels of HGH (human growth hormone) from being produced - this condition is inherited from both parents and is a mutative gene. The shortest person who is alive is Khagendra Thapa Magar, he is two feet and two inches tall and was born in Nepal. He also suffers from the same condition is Gul Mohammed to which there is no treatment available. At the moment he is eighteen years old to date - he was born on October 14 1992. He Ping Ping from China is another one of the shortest people in the world (mobile). He starred in the channel four documentary 'the world's smallest person and me' where he was shown to be a very kind-hearted character. He was 2 feet and 5 inches tall until he died in March 2010 while starring in a program about world records.
