Why Aren’t I Getting Any Private Minutes!?!
In my experience as working as a webcam model (believe it or not!) and my seven years of being a webcam studio manager I have seen many webcam models experience the above issue. So, basically I can summarise the beginning of a webcam model’s career into three distinct stages. 1. The Promotion/Honeymoon Phase Firstly let’s take a look at the Promotion or Honeymoon phase. Working on LiveJasmin (which I did and the majority of my models did) there is a “promotional phase”. This is where your charge is very low at only $0.98 and lasts for 4 hours in free chat or 90 minutes private chat. During this phase you will receive MANY private customers, simply due to the fact that your charge is so low. You will not receive a huge amount of money, on average around $50 until the phase is finished. However in my experience models are usually happy with the way this phase goes as they are gaining invaluable experience in private chat as well as earning some easy money! With other sites, such as InternetModeling and Streamate I term this the Honeymoon phase as you are a novelty for the customers here and so also likely to get quite a few private chats! 2. The Plateau This is without doubt the hardest phase to overcome as a webcam model. Unlike the Promotion/Honeymoon phase which only lasts for a few hours, it is impossible to tell exactly how long this phase will last for. The webcam model may be sitting online for many hours without getting a single private chat and it can be very demoralizing for the model. This is where many models just give up! However I know for a fact that if the webcam model sticks at it and perseveres the private chats will come eventually. Slowly at first, but with time they will come more and more frequently as that model begins to build up his/her customer database. 3. The Final Phase Once a model has made it to this phase they will be well on their way to becoming a top earning webcam model, there is no upper limit on how much they can earn! It may take days, weeks or even months to reach this phase. But with a “can do” attitude and a little bit of patience there is no reason why every webcam model cannot reach this phase!
