Why Do Athletes Use Human Growth Hormones (hgh)?
The media always has had a hay day when an athlete is caught using HGH. From the likes of Sylvester Stallone publicly coming out and saying that he uses it, to athletes like Barry Bonds who has been accused of using it to bolster their field game. So what is HGH? HGH is a hormone, one of many, that our body requires to sustain life. If there was a way to live without any HGH in our body we would have no growth in our body at all, including bones, muscles, or brain, we would all stay the size of babies and would never be able to build muscles or really get rid of fat. We would all be fat tiny midgets; perhaps that's what happened to the little people (Lilliputs) in Gulliver's Travels. So why do athletes take it? The one thing about HGH that truly appeals to athletes is that it has the same or even better muscle building benefits of steroids without the horrible side effect of wasting away after prolonged use. HGH has been used by professionals for over twenty years and unless the athlete was using higher than recommended dosages there were only a few minor side effects experienced if any at all; on the flipside for those who did experiment with crazy dosages, they started having some strange side effects like extra bones growing and other visible deformities. Why is it prohibited for professional use? Quite simply it is because the HGH users have a truly unfair advantage over those who do not use it. Professional athletes that use HGH have faster muscle growth including original muscles getting bigger and new muscles growing faster and bigger than without HGH. Which means for the same workout an athlete using HGH will be bigger, stronger, and faster than the one who is not using HGH. Where does it come from? HGH is actually naturally produced by our body. In our childhood HGH levels are normally high but as we hit our twenties HGH levels start to drastically drop, where by the time we are in our thirties HGH levels can be ten times lower than when we were kids. The HGH level continues to drop so much as we get older that by the time we reach our sixties and from then on the levels can be only a tiny fraction of what we had before. There is a numerous amount of facilities now that claim that HGH is the fountain of youth, although these same facilities also specialize in prescribing, selling and administering HGH. Perhaps they play on people's desires to be young forever, a desire that has driven civilization throughout history to pursue such an object. From Cortez killing thousands of natives to find his fountain of youth to the Nazi's sending thousands of troops in search of the Holy Grail, and if it can be believed even further back the Knights Templar had much the same aspirations. Having said that, there are some independent research laboratories claiming that human growth hormones are exactly what we've been looking for, they claim that as science advances, HGH will become more and more effective at staying off the "side effects" of getting old. Even now there are over six hundred thousand users of HGH, some for legitimate use like HGH deficiency, most however are used by those who want to stay young for as long as possible, many times illegally. Getting an HGH prescription requires you to have some type of disorder although some facilities will "invent" a disorder just to get you a prescription. The alternative is to get natural HGH releasers that cause your body to naturally produce more HGH, which can be as effective as taking the prescription stuff although if you are planning to overdose for muscle building purposes such a natural alternative will not work for you. In the end human growth hormones present some exciting opportunities and perhaps in the near future we can be actually living out a science fiction novel, one where we all take drugs that let us live hundreds of years. For now all we can do is dream and observe as our civilization continues to advance in scientific knowledge of this area. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com About The Author |
