Why Do People Like Learning New Languages?

So Why exactly do people enjoy learning new languages? Well for one, people do it as a way to be 'cool' or to gain respect of people of a particular language speaking region, or even to impress a girl or guy you are in love with, with romantic phrases in an entirely new language, to make your boyfriend or girlfriends hearts melt, or even your wife or husband to keep the romance going strong. Another reason people enjoy learning other languages so much is so that they can have the 'pride' of knowing multiple languages and having the knowledge for safekeeping just incase that language can become of use to the person later on in life.


People also love traveling to new countries, and don't want to feel like an outcast, and being the typical tourist who asks, "Hey, excuse me, but you wouldn't happen to have that menu in English? would you?", or "Hey, You wouldn't happen to speak English would you?". People from other countries tend to respect people who try and learn their language, and come prepared to their country, and not just go to sight-see like 90 percent of people who travel to other countries with different cultures and different languages.

In conclusion people enjoy learning other languages because, 1) it makes them look cool or to impress others, 2) You can gain a pride of having another language mastered for later use, and 3) when you travel to another country you don't look like a fool in from of the natives.
