Why Leaders Ask Why

When I think of “why” this or why that or for that matter why is it important to oneself; honesty I think of the great Greek Philosopher Socrates. Why? Because, in my view Socrates; is the premier individual thousands of years ago who started most of his dialogues with the posing question of. Why? Now, if one stops and thinks for a second; what, are the primary questions posed to us by children, it is pretty constant, it is, Why? You see mother nature has astutely provided for us our very own intuition for growth as we are developing and that learning growth mode of acceleration takes place with the inquires of, Why. And, so therefore that is how we do most of our learning in those first 0 to 5 years of age; as this transformation to children almost comes from within.

So how does it relate to oneself and did the above paragraph answer the issue of why is it important to you, of course not. So often I observe in my work, people that are have a dickens of a time getting started with a project, program or business venture because they haven’t done their homework in finding some basic answers to why or they can’t figure out why things haven’t evolved for them the way they had hoped. They can’t figure out why someone is not buying-in to their particular project and why they can’t reach that goal they have been pursuing and yet have no – Access.

I am of the belief, that if you answer many of the questions that our posed with why; one will begin to start experiencing and witnessing progress right before your eyes. Because, as you start to form the answers to your why’s; one will start the road to progress by accomplishing certain requirement essentials for success. You see, why, is research based; anyone who is investigating, inquiring and researching are attempting to get to the bottom as to why did something happen or why something did not happen. This is very prevalent in almost every profession from business, law, medicine to physics.

The same will apply in your endeavor understanding why is a particular venture for you important is because it will prevent you from excluding people who might need your product. It places you in an arena of having information accessible to help you make important decisions. It is an absolute must in forming your overall business plan. Remember the first question authorities ask when a program has failed, is why did that happen. When a patient dies in an operating room the relatives want to know why did this happen; and, so you better have some answers.

When one answers, the questions of the why’s to your business you will cut down legal liabilities, increase your audience base and develop a reputation of excellence and efficiency, you have done your homework and you are on a roll!
