Why New Beta Game Testers Get Denied - Top 5 Reasons

Paid game testing isn't really that hard. As a matter of fact, you can actually go so far as to say that it's a simple job which does not call for a large amount of effort. All you've got to do is boot the game up, play through it, record the game's problems, and then collect a paycheck when you're all done. Seriously, does this sound like a challenging job to you? I doubt it!

You Need NOT Apply For Game Tester Jobs When...

- You don't have a minimum of five years of game playing experience. In all seriousness, you don't need to be considered a video game legend who has mastered each and every video game out there. But then again, you do need to have elementary understanding of the video game industry and how game creation works. The more experience and understanding you have, the more well off you'll be in terms of getting video game tester jobs.

- You aren't a minimum of 18 years old. Some game companies are recognized to hire (with restrictions) gamers who're 16 years of age. However, this is generally a rare event in the arena of paid video game testing.

- You do not possess a next-gen system and/or a high-end gaming PC. Possessing both is better, but either will do. If you are not up to date with the latest video game technology, you honestly don't stand even the smallest chance.

- You do not possess a beta game testing resume. No resume, zero consideration of any sort, period. Being a beta game tester means performing actual work which in turn HAS TO BE taken seriously. This is not a hobby you do on the weekends -- it is a REAL job.

- You've terrible writing and grammar skills. Video game testers fill out all kinds of reports & forms that are used by game programmers to fix & improve games. If the reports are not thoroughly detailed and quickly understood, the software engineers can not do their job. If a programmer is not able to complete his duty, it often means the tester has failed to do his.

If the 5 things in the list above are not a problem for you, then you're certainly a prospect for professional video game testing. All that is left for you to do is to begin hunting for game testing jobs online -- and if you know where to search, then it won't take you any longer than a week or two!
