Why New Year’s? Get In Shape Now
What about those New Year’s resolutions we make every December, only to have fallen off the horse mid-way thru January? Has that happened to you? Why New Year’s? Why in the world do we wait until January 1st every year to make the same resolution? Do we really need that date as our motivation? Boy I hope not because I could certainly think of a hundred other, better reasons to get in shape and live a happier, healthier lifestyle. My kids, my family, my bucket list, etc. True story! A friend of mine, last year while playing golf during the first week of November said to me “No really, I’m going to start going to the gym right after New Year’s!” What do you think I asked? Yes, “Why are you waiting until New Year’s?” I’m not going to even bother giving you the half dozen excuses he tried to come up with at that moment, let’s just say, every one of them was shot down. There is no excuse. Not for him, not for me, not for you! For most people, the number one reason they are not in the shape they want to be in right now is the same, a lack of time. What if I told you, that with the proper program, whether you go to a gym or exercise at home with no equipment, you can get in shape? Every single person who uses a lack of time as their excuse is covering up the real, true reason they don’t look and feel the way they would like to, PRIORITIES! It comes down to WANT! Nothing more, nothing less. It has been proven time and again, when we want something bad enough, we can achieve it. The same goes for health and fitness. If you make the decision TODAY to do the little things that you need to do, irrelevant of your lifestyle or schedule, I promise you, you can improve your fitness in no time at all and ultimately lead and live a longer, happier life. You can create any change you want, at any time you desire. Make the decision now! Take a few minutes, review your daily grind and figure out if you can find just 20 minutes a day to devote to exercise. I have a very good feeling that you can. We all CAN! Don’t wait any longer. Life will not wait for you to get going. Grab the bull by the horns and let’s do this. Do it for your friends! Do it for your family! Do it for YOURSELF! Do it today!
