OK so the customer is always right and the customer knows best, this we all know especially in a competative market where the customer can walk out the door and go to your nearest competitor. That said why does a client who hires your firm to design them a website then ride all over your deisgn and say what really works?
Of course the client knows their business but do they know the market. My company NemarkMedia had a very similar case recently where we designed an e-commerce site for a client based on the clients cusotmer base, competition and of course the products they were selling. When we unveiled the design "tada" I hear you all shout, the client said " I dont like it". After picking myself up off the floor and sticking pins in the clients eyes it turns out that the client did not like green!!!!
So after sending the client home with his A4 board in hand we told him to ask everyone he knew if they liked the design. Guess what the client came back and agreed that the site was fantastic! The site is making the client over £8k per weeok now and he is happy as Larry (isnt that right Larry?)
