Why Should I Choose A Wedding In Autumn Or Winter?

June has always been a popular month for weddings. There is less chance of rain or snow, and more chance of a bright sunny day to welcome your special day. But nowadays, weddings take place any time of the year, and there are many good reasons to hold your wedding in the autumn or winter. Couples who marry during the months that are not considered to be peak season, will usually find that they save some money with wedding expenses such as catering, music, photography and flowers, as many of these kinds of businesses offer discounts during this time of year. Also, there may be a higher chance of finding an open time slot in the place where the wedding will be performed, whether it is a church or other place of worship, or hotel or country club.

If the wedding is to be performed outdoors, there are few backdrops more lovely than the beautiful colors of autumn leaves on the trees. In winter, many venues will have already decorated for the holiday season, with greenery and flowers such as poinsettias and these arrangements can be included in the design scheme for the wedding.
Colors chosen for the wedding that takes place in the autumn or winter can be quite different from the pastels and light colors usually required for spring or summer weddings. Bolder hues can be utilized, as well as metallic fabrics of gold and silver for a glamorous and dramatic touch. Colors such as dark green and rich sable will work for a wedding that is taking place in the fall or winter, as well as red or even orange.

If the newly married couple has chosen a honeymoon destination that offers discounts for the off season, this could be another money saving reason to choose to get married during this time of year. Guests are also more likely to be able to get time away from work if your wedding is held in one of the busier festive periods, and people will already be in a festive mood, giving your special day an extra sparkle.

With many young couples on tight budgets, saving money while still having the wedding they want is the ideal situation. Other than the fact that the anniversary of the wedding will always be near the holiday season when everyone is busy, it makes sense to have a wedding in the autumn or winter.
