Why You Can’t Believe In American Political Conspiracies
Ned had fought in Viet Nam and had a son in Iraq, who was due home in a couple of months. Ned was very proud of his son for having enlisted in the Army. His son was proud of Ned for having fought in Viet Nam. They were perfect patriotic Americans, living in the best country in the world. Life was good, and they were being good Americans, every day. That night Ned sat down in his puffy chair to watch television. As he was flipping through the channels he glimpsed the face of Jesse Ventura, former governor of Minnesota. Ned liked Ventura. Ventura was, to him, a man’s man, former navy SEAL, professional wrestler and blunt speaker who didn’t mince words. Ventura was being interviewed about his TV show and just published book covering American conspiracies and Ned started squirming in his chair as Mr. Ventura was clearly saying that he not only believed in some of the conspiracies he covered on his show, but said flatly, about one of them, “Our government lied to us.” Ned did not for one moment believe that. No patriotic American raised on the Pledge of Allegiance could ever believe that. Russians lied. Chinese lied. Muslims lied. Americans and their government do not lie to their citizens. Hadn’t Ned stood in front of bullets for his country, his government? They wouldn’t do that to him. So when Jesse mentioned that traces of thermite were found in and around the debris of the collapsed World Trade Center buildings, Ned nodded yes to a rebuttal by a demolitions “expert” who was on the show to discredit Ventura. The “expert” said that thermite could not have been used to bring the buildings down, the way Ventura described it. Ned totally agreed with the expert but did not notice that the expert had not explained HOW the thermite got there in the first place. Thermite doesn’t accumulate like dust. If Ned had even thought about that, he would have blocked it out of his mind, as he did to the rest of the conspiracy examples Jesse Ventura tossed at his interviewer. We are raised from birth to believe that our government always does what is right and moral and proper and everything else they can do to make Ned’s life better, as well as other people’s lives around the world. American governments do not assassinate their own presidents, they do not conspire with former hack politicians, like Al Gore, to get worldwide legislation passed based upon a totally discredited fairy tale that humans are causing our planet to warm up, that will make people all over the world pay substantially more for energy, and would make Al Gore the first carbon billionaire, as he was described in a London newspaper. If we were to believe that there was or is even one conspiracy being perpetrated on us, that would mean there could be others, so we don’t allow that first one to gain a foothold in our minds. What we say is “THEY know more about what’s going on than I do, and THEY say it was a lone nut gunman, or a terrible accident or a coincidence that the oil company got the rights to extract oil from the ground in (you name the country) just after we invaded them.” Who is THEY? THEY is President Obama and his Democrat congress, lying to us about the wonderful world they are trying to create for us and our children…if we’ll only believe them and let them do it. THEY is every person in every country in the world, including ours, who conspire with unknowns to inflict damage of one sort or another on the people who work hard, pay taxes, raise children, believing to their dying breath that THEY are making our lives better, when the only lives that are getting better are the THEIR lives and their families lives and their cronies lives…not yours and mine. You bet there are conspiracies out there, Ned. The really important ones are those that don’t show up on Jesse Ventura’s TV show. (Sorry, Jesse). Those are the ones that were put in place well over a hundred and fifty years ago by people, some with foreign names, who came together from all over the world and put in place a structure that we don’t even know exists and cannot see, but is one that keeps us all in our places, believing that THEY are working on our behalf. This is the ultimate conspiracy. Obama, Pelosi and Reid are little actors in a play that they don’t even know has been running since the first guy decided to take advantage of a second guy. They signed a contract that didn't even have tiny print at the bottom. So, Ned, really the only job that you have is to go back to kindergarten, when you placed your little hand over your little heart and pledged your little allegiance to a very big system that you will probably never ever see, in the flesh, but will rule your life till the day you die. Take your hand off your heart, Big Ned, and just open the door to the possibility that you may be wrong, and THEY are taking you to the cleaners. Now that’s a worthwhile conspiracy “theory” to look at.
