Why You Might Want To Consider Using Preware On Your Palm Pre

Most smart phones today have a way of opening them up to add additional software to them that the developers did not originally design. There are creative people who would take the hardware and find ways of doing more with it than it was intended. On the Palm Pre, this is a very easy thing to do with an application called Preware. Below we will discuss what Preware is and why you might want to use this on your phone.

Installing Preware is very easy. It is not a complicated hack like the case on many other phones. Average users will be able to install this very easily and be able to use what it offers.

Palm is not actively trying to shut down Preware. Many other phone companies are always trying to ruin the hacks and dominate control over the machine. Palm doesn't mind people using their phones as they wish so they are not patching up hacks.

Preware gives you access to thousands of new applications. Many of these are homebrew meaning they are made by people as more of a hobby. This gives you an advantage over just having Palm's applications. If something has not been put in the store yet, it is likely that someone has created it and put it on Preware.

Your phone will have extra features that others without the Palm Pre do not have. For example, in Preware you can get a touch screen keyboard. By default you will not have one of these on your phone.

You can easily add themes to your phone and make it look very different. Almost everything can be customized. For example, some can make the Palm Pre appear and function somewhat like an iPhone by changing the theme.

You do not have to wait on developers to write applications. If the users want it, it is likely that a Preware user will program it for the community.
