Why You Should Be Building Embassies In Travian

Always build embassies.

You're probably thinking "Dan, you've got to be kidding!"

I'm not. Let me explain something to you.

When you build a village do you do all the researches, or do you select a purpose for that one village? I hope you give it a purpose, because if you don't you can't expect to have a village that does EVERYTHING (i.e. upgraded scouts, upgraded offensive units, upgraded catapults...etc). You will try to have everything in each of your villas...but you will end up with a half-assed set up.

Instead give each village a focus.

For example, let's say you decided to build a "scout village". What do roman scouts take the most of? Clay. So you would build the village on a tile that has 5 clay tiles instead of 4.

Next you would do all the upgrades for scouts...and go on to build 1000-3000 scouts. Have you ever seen a player with more than 1000 scouts? I'll bet not. That village would be the king of scouting...scouting is information, and informed offensive players are powerful.

Would you need to build a level 20 barracks? No. Would you need a siege workshop? No. You'll have another village to deal with those units. And with all the extra room in your "scout village" what do you put there? An embassy. A level 20 Embassy gives 153 culture points and costs 20,000 wood, 14,000 clay, 16,000 iron and 9000 crop...that's nothing! Now suppose you have 10 of these embassies...that's 1530 cp/day just from your embassies. This is called well planned and thought out expansion is known as.
