Why A Gun Ban Violates The Constitution
The constitution says that a free society is dependent on the right of the militia to have firearms. We depend on the freedom to bear arms. That is the only way that we can have all of the other freedoms. It protects us from government, from invading armies, and from any common criminal trying to take your private property. Guns protect us from the government. If a tyrant comes to power and tries to take away the constitution, armed citizens could fight back and keep the nation free. The second amendment keeps the government from taking away all of the other rights. There is nothing to stop the government from taking away all of the people's rights besides guns. If they have the army behind them, they can disregard the constitution. Hitler seized the guns from Germans early on in his rise to power. Guns protect us from invading armies. Thanks to their guns, the founders of this nation were able to take on Great Britain. Although they did not glorify war, war was how they got their independence. In the early days, even though an individual may not be part of the official military, every able bodied man was considered part of the militia. It was the responsibility of every man to defend freedom. If everyone had guns, the people could easily rise up and defend themselves. In a national emergency, the people could defend the land in a minute's notice. Guns protect us from common criminals. If criminals are entering your home, you have instant protection. Guns you can use at a distance, where knives or swords are more dangerous to engage with. If someone is invading your home, you should have the right to protect yourself. You have a better chance of incapacitating an intruder with a gun than a fist fight. Police may not arrive on time to protect your home and relying solely on them puts you at great risk. The constitution says that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed. The government is not allowed to restrict gun use. Even though it does talk about a militia, it says that the right to bear arm shall not be infringed, making it an individual right, not a collective right.
