The reservation for hotels made a big change during the last years. As the internet changed most of our habits regarding shopping, chatting, dating and booking holidays, of course our habit for reserving a hotel also changed. If it’s a low-budget-hotel or a five stars luxury hotel, the reservation service offers almost every hotel in Europe or Worldwide.
But what are the advantages of these services to the “old-school-way”?
• You save money because you don’t have to phone any hotel, especially when it’s located abroad. With only a few clicks you have a whole bunch of hotels
on your screen. Here you can even check out for hotel near a specific address.
• Discounts and special rates are sometimes only available on the internet.
• The hotel descriptions are also published on the WebPages of the reservation services.
• Comments and valuations from former guests who booked this hotel can be read online. This is helpful for the case you never have been to this hotel.
If you plan a short trip because of an extended weekend you should check before if in the area no big event is held. Big events raise the prices. Big events are for example: Olympics games in Vancouver 2010, Toy fair in Nuremberg or the Motor Show in Geneva.
If you are indeed attending a big event as mentioned above, I can give you some tips how to save money:
- The earlier you reserve, the cheaper it could be
- Have a look also in the surrounding; if you are for example coming to Geneva for the Motor Show, the prices near the exhibition centre are unaffordable. Check the surrounding up to 30 miles, you will see the prices there are much lower.
- Take the time to read the comments of former guests who travelled to this hotel
. Sometimes a two stars hotel is rated much better than a five stars luxury hotel.
