Why Should I Start A Business From Home In The Uk?
So, is the UK economy picking up? If you think that’s the case, read no further! But if, like me, you’ve read a lot of stuff about this subject, you’ll probably still be reading. The government has been aggressive in spending money to cover the real economic woes and whatever this does now, it will NOT be effective in the long run.
So, will the job losses continue? Is your job likely to be a statistic by 2010? Even if it’s not, what are your real long term prospects? What are the alternatives?
The obvious answer here is – start your own business. The classical economic model is to come up with a unique product or service idea, make a Business Plan and go out and raise the money that you need. Realistically, almost nobody does this, as the barriers are huge – How do you come up with a good idea? How do you prepare a Business Plan? Where do you get funding?
So, that effectively rules out 99% of the population. However today there are a number of ways to start a Home Business in the UK (or anywhere really):-
1. Multi Level Marketing or Network Marketing (Home/local and internet based)
This is a good , low cost way to become independent of the boss. Initial setup costs are usually affordable (as little as £100) and there are many companies operating this marketing system for their products. You will probably have heard of Amway (the oldest) or possibly Forever Living Products, but there are many more. The main thing is to find one with a good payment plan and training.
2. Affiliate Marketing (Internet based)
This is also a low cost entry business and it is becoming increasingly popular. You need to be a bit savvy on the internet, but if you do your research sensibly there are loads of people who will help you to get into the business by giving you step by step training on how to do it. If you’re interested in this, the place to start is although you will need to find someone to guide you through the rights and wrongs of this type of business, it’s a bit of a minefield!
3. Online Marketing or Internet Marketing (Internet based)
This type of business is both low and medium cost (between £100 and £15,000) depending on the level you want to start at. As with the other types, there are a range of companies to choose from. As in the previous type, you’ll need to be careful about getting good advice. I suggest an online Google search – this will give you many options.
But whatever your thoughts on this subject, I do urge you to consider “going it alone” as it’s the only way to really get ahead of the game in life. I’ll be going into these different types of businesses in more detail in later articles – Watch This Space!
