Why Write Checks To Big Brother?

Big Brother has his hands firmly in your pocket. Doubt it for a minute? Consider your tax bill from this past year. It likely amounted to at least a third of your total income for the year.

How much of that money would you like to see back in your own pocket? All of it, most likely. Yet to listen to the tax authorities around the world talk, it is greedy people like you--people who just want to keep their own money--that are the cause of all the short falls in government.

Why write checks to people like that? The sweat of your brow keeps all the fancy politicians able to continue to live in the style to which they have become accustomed. They're able to hobnob with celebrities and fly around in private jets because you scrimp and save to be able to keep a roof over your head and pay your taxes on time.

There's got to be a better . . . and there is. Governments don't like to have it discussed, but the fact is that you can take your money somewhere it's a little more appreciated. Somewhere it goes a little farther, and the government takes a little less. You don't have to stay a prisoner of the first world tax systems.

Instead, you can literally comparison shop between countries to find another system that works for you. With the rise of the internet, much of this information is available online. You can evaluate sales taxes, property taxes, and income taxes to see which countries allow their residents to keep more of their money.

You should also figure out what tax breaks you would earn yourself simply by leaving the country. For some countries, your tax burden ceases when you no longer reside in the country. In others, like the US, you earn an offsetting credit that reduces your taxable income.

Learn the merits of each country you consider. Some may be traditional tax havens, while others simply don't communicate income information back to the first world. Determine what works best for your situation.

Once your research is done, you can begin to plan your move. Your friends may think you've lost your mind when you talk about leaving the indentured servitude you've always known, but freedom from your onerous tax burden is just over the horizon. There's no reason to stick around and pay through your nose to keep politicians' pockets lined.
