Why You Need To Go And See Paul The Movie If You're Anything Like Me

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) get back together with the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America's UFO heartland. Whilst there, they accidentally meet an alien who takes them for an insane journey that alters their universe forever. Within the last 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the very first vehicle out of town-a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Frost).

Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds find it difficult to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes. Paul is directed by Superbad's Greg Mottola, from the story by Pegg & Frost. Joining the comedy's cast are Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Blythe Danner, Joe Lo Truglio, John Carroll Lynch, David Koechner and Sigourney Weaver.

Plenty of good reasons why I'm getting excited about this film. The foremost is that I'm a big fan of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. I remember when I stumbled across my first episode of Spaced years a go while i shared an appartment with my buddies. I loved the way in which we could relate to the humour as it's target audience was us, being in our mid-twenties! It looked great as well, as Edgar Wright has a great directorial style.

When spaced finished I was getting excited about what they would make next, as their TV series was very stylized and heavily influenced by Film and computer game references it was only natural the next step was a feature film, 'Shaun of the Dead'. Although I'm not a massive zombie film fan I still enjoyed it immensely.

Next came 'Hot Fuzz' which was a lot of fun and just as good as 'Shaun of the Dead' for me. Lots of great action film references, great camera work, and jokes obviously. Many may be convinced that 'Paul' is actually the third in the blood and ice cream trilogy as it is termed. This isn't the case as 'Paul' is directed by Greg Mottola, but comes from a story by Pegg and Frost.

Why am I so looking forward to 'Paul'? Well I'm a huge sci-fi fan meaning the film is a perfect combination for me personally; A Sci-fi film written by Pegg and Frost, it's funny as Spaced could have been a great name for the film!
