Wifi And A Whole Lot More With Archos Mp3 Players

Portable media devices for music and videos are all the rage these days, and the Apple iPod is the undoubted leader in terms of marketplace share and unit sales. But that doesn't indicate that the iPod is the only game in town -- not by a long shot. There are many distinctive brands of MP3 players on the marketplace which are quite equivalent to the Apple in not only the features they provide but also the cost. You can take the latest player from the Gen 5 line up of Archos MP3 players as a prime example of this, as for the price and quality of the device it gets my highest vote. Not too long ago I picked up the 80 GB 605 WiFi model and I am so impressed with it that I am not the least bit depressed that I got rid of my iPod.

There are many characteristics that divide Archos MP3 players from the rest of the pack. Of course, the device plays music, and with 80GB of storage space, I've been able to load my entire collection onto the 605 Wifi with plenty of room to spare. It supports numerous various types of five, including .wav,.mp3, and the.WMA whether it is protected or not. It is a really nice feature because it means that I don't have to wait around for conversion software in order to download my songs. Features love this make it a much more versatile and convenient player than many other brands.

But the Gen 5 line up goes well beyond merely playing music. You can very easily navigate through all of the menus in the Archos line up of MP3 players with either your finger or the stylus that comes incorporated on an rather high quality 4.3 inch color touchscreen. Because of the large size of the display on this unit, it makes it perfect for watching movies, TV shows or even streaming videos from YouTube. The picture is amazingly sharp and shows up visibly in lots of diverse lighting situations. I've seen people trying to watch stuff on their tiny iPod screens, and I just have to shake my head in sympathy. The Archos MP3 player is a lot better choice than the smaller iPod so there's no reason to put yourself through the misery of that situation.

What I like most about Archos MP3 players is the way I can handle all of my contents without having to be tied to a computer. Because of the wifi connection, I'm able to download songs, movies, and other videos on the go. In addition, the included Opera web browser makes it simple for me to surf the Internet, check my email, and play games wherever I am -- something that's not possible with most other devices out there. Most of the other brands leave you stuck in the mud when you're not at a PC and you can't do an update until you are.

If you really think about making the purchase of a portable media player, don't just do what everyone else does and pay money for one of those pricey iPods just because of what it is. Instead, I recommend giving Gen 5 Archos MP3 players a try. They are a lot more sophisticated scientifically and they have superior prices than all of the competition. Receiving more for less... isn't that what intelligent shopping is all about?
