Winter Coyotes

I'm sure there's a lot of sportsmen out there that sit around the house on the weekends during the winter months wondering what to do with themselves or what to hunt. There's a couple of options during the off season and this is actually one of the best times to go out and help our big game herds. Not only are our big game herds slowly starving to death but they also have to worry about the threat of predators such as wolves, coyotes and mountain lions.

We're going to only focus on one predator that poses a big threat to our big game herds and fawns during the winter and early spring months. Although wolves are the next big threat to our big game animals.

Coyotes. Coyotes are famous for killing a lot of fawns during the winter and spring months. The great thing about coyote hunting is we don't need a license to go out and harvest coyotes. We can go and hunt and kill as many coyotes as we want and it's all beneficial to our big game herds. Coyotes are also considered a nuisance because they are unafraid of going into towns and cities and are widely known to attack pets and small children.

There's definitely no shortage of coyotes in America. We urge all sportsmen to go to your nearest hunting store, grab a predator call, your rifle and head out to the mountains or desert and do your part and take as many coyotes as you can. Your big game herds will thank you for it.

There's no reason for us sportsmen to get bored during these winter months. Be safe and good hunting.
