Would You Like To Use Free Web 2.0 Tactics To Drive Traffic To Your Website?

One of the best, and FREE methods for advertising your website on the internet is via what has become known as the Web 2.0 phenomenom. Web 2.0 involves the formulation of a strategy utilising blogs and article writing sites.

Traffic exchanges can also work well in creating "backlinks". Essentially, the more backlinks (original content blogs and articles, that link back to your website) that you can create, the more highly search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Lycos, etc. will rate your site. The higher your site is rated for a given keyword, the higher your website will appear within the search results of that search engine.

Given that the ultimate aim of any internet marketer is to create a website that is ranked highly enough to attain, say a Google page one ranking for a given keyword, then Web 2.0 advertising is an excellent strategy to achieve this.

Right, let's now discuss how to put this into practice. I recommend opening accounts with online social networking sites MySpace, Squidoo, Facebook,Twitter, video sharing websites like YouTube, and Google Video, as well as with social bookmarking sites Del.icio.us, and Digg.

Once you have opened accounts with these social networking webites, you need to spend a little time observing the way things are done on that site. This is very important if you are to avoid making mistakes considered offensive by either the moderator on the site, or just as importantly by the community of followers themselves. It would obviously become much more difficult to establish rapport, respect and trust, if you have been abusing your fellow community with spam, or by blatant advertising.

The purpose of this strategy is to publish quality content in either blog form or perhaps as an expert article, within your niche, in a fashion that will create a positive talking point, such that readers will refer others to your article, as well as attracting readers to your main website. This is known as viral marketing.

Social networking sites allow you to feature links to your website and
blog. The creation of these one-way links and traffic along
with high search engine page rankings are crucial to their success. Web 2.0 helps achieve all these, free of cost.

As mentioned earlier in this article, Traffic Exchanges can also be adopted successfully to drive traffic to your website. One traffic exchange that I recommend is Freetrafficsystem.

This site does something called spinning. Spinning enables the author to recraft their article by changing selected words within it, so that Freetrafficsystem can submit your article to 30 article marketing sites with sufficient different words within it to prevent the article from being duplicated, as this will reduce its ranking. There is even a piece of software available for purchase that automates the spinning process.

The serious web 2.0er needs to do more than just blogging. There a high profile sites such as Instablogs where your efforts can be supercharged by what is known as syndication. This is where your content is distributed to multiple sites, which obviously accelerates your popularity.

The article or blog must be considered quality content and so it should add value of some description. Squidoo is a particularly important social networking site because Google, which is probably the most popular search engine at the current time. It is not uncommon for Squidoo Lenses (websites) to be rated as number 1 on the first page of Google for given keywords. I therefore recommend including Squidoo in your web 2.0 strategy.

Twitter is another great resource for keeping in touch with people. You can build enormous follower lists from Twitter. There are several scripts (software tools) out there created that can be used to boost your follower base. One such tool is tweetmeme. This allows you to paste a link on your site that encourages readers to tweet your blog or article on Twitter. Tweeting is essentially commenting/rating your content, which leads to increased key relevance.

Be sure to create RSS feeds for your blog, as this will pull your readers back to your blog each time you add or edit content.

I hope you have found this article of great interest to you, and please take the time to rate it. I would also appreciate it if you tweet this to your followers.
