Writing Powerful Headlines

A few months ago I was in Salt Lake City, Utah for a seminar when Russell Brunson presented me with a little challenge. In the hotel lobby there was a huge rack of pamphlets and brochures, and he challenged me to find the one with the most outrageous headline. I was a bit nervous and wanted to make a good choice. So, I'm standing there looking at probably 50 or more ads in a crowded, noisy hotel lobby. As I'm browsing through all of the headlines, I noticed a plain white brochure that said, "Snow Mobile Naked!" I chose that one for obvious reasons, but how can this apply to you and your marketing methods?

When you are preparing to write your headline, there are 2 major factors to consider:

1. Your customer is probably going to be distracted by many other things while looking at your advertisement. So it has to grab them.

2. There is always competition. In the hotel lobby that 1 brochure was surrounded by 50 others, but with a glance, I was able to pick it out of the crowd.

Think about these 2 factors as you prepare to write your next headline. Whether it's on a brochure or in a magazine, the goal is to get the customers attention and earn their business.
