Writing A Killer Sales Page
Many don't realize that a great sales page will be the heart of your business so you must not neglect to put in the necessary effort to make one. Otherwise you will experience low or no sales. Here are some tips to get you started: 1. Learn from the greats in the business. Go to the websites of the master copywriters and check out what they have for a sales page. Just type 'copywriters' into Google and check out the first 10 that come up. You can get some ideas, but don't steal their copy or you'll get in trouble. 2. Understand the 3 P's of Copywriting a. Make it personal b. Make it precise and streamlined c. Make it persuasive 3. Get your layout tailored into the three parts mentioned below. a. The first will be bringing to your reader's attention, the problem and emphasizing it b. Show the benefits and how your product or service is going to solve their problems. c. The conclusion will have the call for action and any guarantee you will offer, and so on. 4. Work on headlines 1st and then sub headlines, lastly fill in the details. Remember your headline is your salesman. The headline will attract your reader and make them sit up and take notice. Your sub headlines must also attract attention and draw your reader into the actual sales copy. 5. If your guarantee is fully 'iron clad,' your buyer will trust you and be more tempted to buy from you than elsewhere. It takes a little time to perfect the art of copywriting, and every professional copywriter will tell you that no sales page is ever set in stone. Sometimes just a word or two will increase sales. Split testing is one way and a very important one to get your copy to sell. Here are some steps to do this: 1. Make two different pages for the same service or product you are selling. 2. Make each one a little different than the other. 3. Track which ones gets the most traffic. 4. Drive traffic to both pages. 5. Monitor and note which one is bringing in the sales. 6. Use the one with the highest sales conversion Avoid these mistakes: 1. Avoid hype. 2. Unprofessional presentation. 3. Using features instead of benefits These are just a few pointers to help you make a start. Remember to think as a buyer and not a seller. If your page cannot convince you to buy the product or service then it certainly will not convince your reader.
