Yarra Valley Wineries Shedfest 2010

Yarra Valley Wineries are popular for their award winning wines that are some of the highest quality in the world. In order to partake the offered wine tourism experience, tourists come from all over to the Yarra Valley. Even though the wine is the main draw of Yarra Valley, guest and visitors also go there to personally experience their wineries.
Award winning wines are not the only thing Yarra Valley Wineries are known for. Shedfest is also the other thing that Yarra Valley is known for and the recent Shedfest was something to talk about.
Wineries will always have sheds. Winery Sheds are usually the place that houses crushers, barrels, tractors and other equipment vitally important to the production process of making award winning wines.
On the second weekend of October every year, eleven Yarra Valley wineries just along the Warburton Highway open their sheds for two days of great food, wine, and festivities. Last October 9 and 10 of this year, Wineries along the Yarra Valley's Warburton Highway opened their gates and sheds to receive guests and tourists alike for Shedfest. All were welcomed after the $5.00 fee which included a souvenir glass to commemorate their visit and festive memories.
In order to show the unique charm of the wineries and vineyards along the southern side of the Yarra Valley, Shedfest was founded by the people of Yarra Valley almost 10 years ago already. Shedfest is a festive celebration to be able to relax in. The makers of the regions wines also attend this festive celebration not only to air out their sheds, but to also be able to talk to the guest and visitors. Not only are the guests welcome to the bountiful wine presented and provided in the celebration, great tasting food grown from the Yarra Valley Wineries are also laid about.
Guests and visitors can experience the allure of small vineyards and be enthralled by the spectacular views while enjoying the banquet for all the senses in the festival. Shedfest 2010 was able to provide everyone who attended an experience like no other. An experience of fun, family, and festivities that young or old can enjoy.
