Yoplait Diet For Tune Up In Two Weeks

Study Description and Results

Yoplait two Week Tune Up plan is based on a recent study. This study demonstrated that women lost a significant amount of weight when they replaced breakfast and lunch with a Yoplait Light, a grain, and a fruit as part of a reduced-calorie, structured meal plan, rich in lean protein along with walking.

Participants

Healthy, overweight women between the ages of 20-45 years of age with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 25 and 35 kg/m2 were recruited for the study. In all, 51 women followed the Two Week Tune Up, with an average age of 34.3 years and an average BMI of 30.1 kg/m2. None of the women had any known metabolic, cardiovascular, bone or other severe health conditions, and their weight had been stable for at least 6 months. They did not smoke, use medications known to affect weight loss or bone health, or use heavy amounts of caffeine or alcohol. Pregnant women were also excluded.

The Diet & Exercise Plan

At the beginning of the study and during weekly sessions, women were instructed on how to follow the Two Week Tune Up. They met in small groups several times each week to walk 30-40 minutes together, and walked independently on the remaining days of the week. Participants tracked their food intake and physical activity.

The Two Week Tune Up plan is a structured, reduced-calorie dietary pattern (~1200 calories/day) with approximately 30% of calories from protein, 25% of calories from fat, and 45% of calories from carbohydrate. This plan replaces breakfast and lunch with a Yoplait Light, a serving of fruit and a serving of cereal or a granola bar, and includes a sensible dinner rich in lean protein and three additional servings of non-fat dairy per day.

Observations

Women who followed the Two Week Tune Up plan lost an average of 5.3 pounds in two weeks. This was a statistically significant loss from their starting weight (p
