Hey guys, this is just a quick videogame review on Yoshi Touch and Go. So, once you turn on your Nintendo DS, you will be prompted to press the Yoshi touch and go logo on the touch screen. Once you do that, you will be taken to the menu screen. Within the menu screen, you are presented with six different options.
Those options being: Score Attack, Marathon, Battle, Time Attack, Challenge, and Rankings. On the very bottom of the menu screen, you will see a demo option, as well as your general options. So, if you were to go into the general options you can choose different sound modes, such as changing your sound from stereo, to headphones, to surround, etc.
Of course, you also have the option to turn the backlight on or off, control your mic sensitivity and a few other choices. So, instead of going into in-depth detail with the game, I will instead be reviewing the general game mechanics in the marathon mode. The reason for this is because I don't want to ruin the game for you guys, so instead I'll be giving you more of a general review of the game.
So, once we're in Marathon mode, baby Mario will be falling from the skies with three balloons attached to him. Using the touchscreen, your objective is to guide baby Mario by laying clouds for him to fall on and keep him away from danger. If you manage to successfully guide Mario to the bottom, without popping all three balloons, Yoshi will be waiting for you at the bottom. This is where you're taken to the next section of the game.
With Mario on Yoshi's back, your objective is to complete the levels, but at the same time, get as many points as you possibly can. So in a way, this game is more of an arcade style type game, where your objective is to get as many points as you possibly can. Using Yoshi, your goal is to protect baby Mario at all costs.
Tap the touchscreen to shoot Yoshi's eggs at enemies. Tap Yoshi directly to make him jump. Draw clouds to caputure enemies, or create bridges so that your character won't fall into bottomless pits. Didn't like the way you used the clouds to help guide both Mario and Yoshi? Simply blow into the microphone to get rid of the clouds, and then try again.
What's my verdict? This game goes back to the basics, and provides a fun experience for anyone that is looking for a good time. It's simple, easy, and it's fun. Highly recommended!
