You Can Lower Cholesterol By Eating The Right Food

There is much talk about careful dieting, but eating lower cholesterol foods, along with sensible exercise is what will make the difference. Once Cholesterol has built up in the body it sticks to the inner walls of the arteries, preventing the smooth flow of blood and leads to all types of heart disease and health problems. It is also very determined and does not easily leave the affected arterial passage-ways. This makes the whole process a major cause of frustration and worry to those who have the problem. Obese or just ‘overweight’ people are those most likely to be affected by high cholesterol, although there are other causes such as bad diet, drugs and genetic traits, which can affect anyone. However, there are a number of food types that do help in lowering cholesterol in most people as they contain antioxidants that help prevent the build up of cholesterol. Also it should be noted that not all cholesterol is bad, LDL cholesterol is definitely harmful in excess quantities, but another type of cholesterol known as HDL is actually good for the body and helps to combat the build up of ‘bad’ cholesterol. They also do not contain any fats. Citrus fruits which are high in vitamin C should should always be included. Cucumber is very good for dealing with free-radicals which are the cause of various diseases as it is high vitamin E, which is an anti oxidant.
