One thing that can get really old when you are at the airport is the crowds, but even worse, the wasted time. Every minute you spend sitting and waiting or standing and waiting in lines, are minutes that you can't get back. They're not making any more time and once it's wasted, it's wasted and gone forever. Now, there is a difference in the way that you feel about wasting the time.

If you are on a corporate trip, heading to an important meeting or something like that, then all of the minutes that you are losing are wasted and you are not getting anything completed. If you are on vacation, then your perspective on what is being wasted is a little bit different. Maybe you aren't in as much of a hurry, maybe the timetable is not as significant because it isn't costing you any money to be there, and you are on vacation after all.

But the time is still being wasted, because if you weren't there, you would be doing the things that you like to do. And nobody likes to sit in an airport or likes to wait in line anywhere; if you do you are just a little bit weird. These are the kinds of grievances and inconveniences that you are just going to have to deal with and get used to if you are going to continue to fly with commercial airlines.

They are developed for large groups of people and they are set up for mass transport with impersonal and corporate dispositions. It is all about how many people they can push through the terminal and cram onto the jet. They talk about personal service and the importance of the patron, but really, if they were flying chickens or cattle around the country, I don't think that it would be all that different. That is why you need to choose a method of travel that is above these things and puts the customer back into the most essential role of the equation.

There are charter flights out there and the level of professionalism and service is something that these commercial airlines just can't compete with. And they are not going to want to contend because they are not going to be able to keep up with the charter company, and so there is no reason for them to try. There is no reason for them to compete because they are not going after this select group of customers.
