You Won't Forget These Hamburgers

Growing up we would travel to and from California a lot. We would either live in California and drove Utah to visit my mom's family or we would drive from Utah to California to visit my dad's family. Looking back I think we did this at least once a year and at times it would be several times a year.

There are several things that I remember about that drive over the years. We had certain places we would stop for different things. We would stop in some places and go to a park so the kids could run and play and get a little break. Then there were places we stopped for potty breaks. The thing that I remember most is stopping in Downey, California for food.

There was a restaurant that we all looked forward to eating at every time we made that drive. It didn't matter what time of the day it was we would stop and eat. If it was mid afternoon we would even be willing to skip lunch to get the delicious food. My favorite on the menu was the onion rings. For my mom she loved the mozzarella cheese sticks. We all had our favorites, but what we couldn't find anywhere else that tasted anywhere near as good was the hamburgers. There were all different hamburgers with toppings that met anyone's taste buds.

It has been a long time since we have gone down to California, but all of my family remembers those years and the fun memories we have of the restaurant in Downey.
