You Have An Urgent Meeting … It’s On Anxiety And Stress, Don’t Be Late!

Some of the biggest anxiety and stress related times are at work. Deadlines, meetings, schedules to keep … all bring out anxiety and stress by the truck load. Do you remember hearing this …

“Sorry, I have a meeting that I can’t get out of … I’m going to be late.”

Sound familiar? Can you feel the anxiety and stress levels increasing just thinking about it? Most of you have had times when you have had to be in a meeting where as a result you have missed an important date with your family, children, friends etc.

Why? Because the meeting was urgent, imperative or whatever, you couldn’t get out of it … the pressure was there to attend, anxiety and stress levels were getting higher and higher. So you missed an enjoyable occasion because you were stuck in the office, lecture theatre, house or wherever.

So can you change this and reduce anxiety and stress at the same time?

No, meetings will always occur, as will all the anxiety and stress they bring. But you should use the same approach for yourself. What do I mean?

Book in each day a meeting at a time you know you can have half an hour spare. Early evening for example, or first thing in the day, lunch time, or whenever. But put it in your diary as an urgent, unavoidable meeting, but with yourself … it will be a time for a meeting without anxiety or stress. Why?

It will be a meeting to have by yourself, to do a relaxed activity or time to spend with your family, especially your children … free of any work hassle, anxiety or stress.

You seldom give yourself the time to enjoy life, you give everyone else time, and you put yourself out for every Tom, Dick and Harry … all while your stress and anxiety levels keep going up. But you never give yourself the same time or effort.

The most important person in the planet is YOU. You should look after yourself with the same effort and passion … if not stress and anxiety will give you time off. It will be time off for illness … created by accumulating stress and anxiety.

In day to day life you should look after yourself first. Sure you still need to be flexible, pull your weight at work, and look after your family … this is the common anxiety and stress issues. But you should give yourself time each day.

It makes sense; a few minutes to yourself, every day. Time to relax and enjoy life, time to do exercises that build up a resistance to help fight your anxiety and stress. Time spent each day over a period of time will return greater benefits than just doing it here and there. It is the small things you do often that make the biggest change in your anxiety and stress levels.

Winston Churchill once said ‘it is not strength of will or courage, but continuous effort that wins the day’. He was talking about winning the war … you can apply it to win the war against stress and anxiety.

Taking a few minutes (preferably half an hour) each day on a regular basis, helps to create more time for you. If you use this time to calm and quiet the mind, then life becomes less chaotic and hectic … finally a life with less anxiety and stress.

Having time for yourself, your mind becomes more relaxed, more efficient and effective. Hence it doesn’t go around and around repeating the same thoughts, stress etc. Which gives you time to enjoy life and do a few other activities. You will also find you get more work done in less time, so that if you want to impress the boss by doing more work you can and still have time to exercise, play with the children, laugh and have fun.

This can all be achieved with time, time for you and your family. Making yourself number one goes a long way in your quest to remove and prevent stress and anxiety.

So stop right now and go make an appointment … a meeting with yourself, free of anxiety and stress. Anxiety and stress can be eliminated and they need to be … for you and your family.
