You Want To Buy Autoresponder - But Where?

This is a question that comes up endlessly in forums, and I'm often asked it by my coaching students.

Repeatedly the unthinking, or uninformed, will right away come back with a recommendation for the two most well known services, Aweber and GetResponse, but are these really the top place to buy autoresponder or are these responses just the result of intelligent marketing and the ensuing brand recognition that results from it?

One of the justifications people present for recommending 'the big two' is their capable delivery rates, and at first glance this seems logical enough. After-all who wants to take the risk that a percentage of their their carefully crafted email series may not get delivered.

But is this factor compelling enough to make the decision on where to buy autoresponder as a choice between only these too?

I want to propose that it is not.

Why?

Because surveys have publicized that the difference in deliverability between 'the big two' and more than a few other top class, but relatively unknown auto responder service providers is as low as 0.01%.

Only one email not arriving in one thousand sent!!

So... if you put the very much overrated deliverability factor aside, you are left with two other, much more important factors to consider.

Price and easy of use. Let's for a short time look at each of these:

Price:

Aweber - 500 subscribers $19 a month 5000 subscribers $45 a month
GetResponse: about the same
A lesser known provider: ie
ISOR - 500 subscribers $9.95 a month 50000 subscribers $39 a month, AND you get another seven service all marketer must have to succeed thrown in at no extra charge (ad and URL tracking, capture page builders, rotators, hosted blog, live conference room, and the list goes on and on)

Ease of use:

With both 'the big two' all the bells and whistles, used by fewer than 1 in a hundred people, come at the cost of increased complexity and a vastly longer learning curve, when what the great majority of us need is outstanding basic capabilities and great reporting.

Want an illustration of complexity going over board, even for an skilled user like me?

Try altering any of your optin forms on Aweber!

Is this why both of them offer a restricted free trial, but only for a short duration, and only after you've had to provide your credit card details?

Conclusion:

It pays not to blinded by by 'common knowledge' and talented marketing when considering where to buy auto responder, particularly when there is a very respectable provider, ISOR, who offers a 30 day trial of their responder, and all the other seven associated service without you even having to pull your credit card out. In the unlikely event that you decide their online tools suite is not for you, you simply cancel or, should you wish, ISOR will cancel your account automatically after 30 days and erase all your details from their database, and you will NEVER hear from them again.

What could be fairer, or easier, than that?
