Your Automatic Digital Information Product
The market is currently hot for anyone selling good information on virtually any topic. There is a great demand for all types of specialist information and you will be sitting on a gold mine if you can provide the right information and satisfy people’s needs. The digital delivery of information products means you have extremely low overheads (if any). You don’t need to print out your course or pay for expensive graphic design, there are no postage charges and best of all it requires no work on your part to get the product to the customer – they can instantly download it! If you can convert your products, services or knowledge into a digital information product, you will probably be able to take advantage of one of the greatest opportunities available on the internet today. You can become a digital information publisher or infopreneur. The most popular types of digital products today include e-books, e-zines; subscription websites and interactive audio/video content. All can be highly profitable and well worth the effort to create, as you will see. In general, the e-book format is probably the most effective form of digital information products today. There are literally thousands of e-books being sold today on virtually any topic you can think of. If you have an area of interest, are an expert in a given field or just possess some form of specialized knowledge, you are in a position to create an e-book to sell for massive profits. Creating your very own e-book An e-book is the perfect way to deliver in-demand Knowledge you wish to share with others. The most common method of presenting an e-book is through the PDF format. PDF stands for Portable Digital Format and is read by the Adobe Acrobat software. This is the ideal format for digital products because it is well-known and accessible to both PC and MAC users. It is a truly versatile format. There are a number of software programs that will allow You to create PDF documents. The most popular being the Adobe Acrobat program. To create PDF files you will need to buy this version as opposed to the Reader which is free to download from http://www.adobe.com. Adobe even has a FREE PDF creation page where you can convert documents into PDF’s FREE. Just visit http://createpdf.adobe.com for details. Some of you may like to present your information product in the e-book format using an e-book compiler. Just go to http://www.yahoo.com and type in a search for ‘e-book compilers’. There should be a host of compilers on offer. Be warned though, I have seen a number of these software programs pop-up lately and the prices amongst them have varied from $14.95 to $160 (for basically the same product!). Make sure you check the features and understand what the compiler can really do to make sure you are not paying too much for a ‘basic’ compiler. You need to use your specialized knowledge or unique information to produce a report or informative guide that people will be willing to read (and hopefully pay for!). Try to tackle the subject in a logical manner. Start off with some background info on the topic and try to give a little background info about yourself and your unique experience in the given area. This will build rapport with your target audience and make them feel comfortable about dealing with you, the expert. If you’re a gardener and specialize in designing unique garden landscapes for your clients, let them know your background and how you started off in the landscaping business. Prove to them your knowledge and experience. Once you have introduced yourself and your topic area, it’s time to get to the juice of your e-book. Try to be as unique and different to everyone offering similar information on your topic. Again the important copy writing tips explained earlier can be incorporated in your e-book as well. There is no need to bore your readers, no matter what the subject matter! You should sum up the e-book with some valuable tips that the readers can use themselves. Our gardener could describe a technique for selecting the best synthetic turf for a person’s particular geographic region. Similarly, an expert stock trader may like to describe part of his profitable stock trading system. This section should be intended to give value to the reader and let them see that there is more to what you can teach, show or do for them. This then provides you with an opportunity for further contact with them and a chance to up-sell your other products or services. Most e-books sell from $19.95-$99.00 over the internet. The price people will pay is based upon their perceived value and as you guessed, there are no hard and fast rules as to what you should charge. Just remember that your e-book must provide value to your clients above all else. You have got to give them something valuable and leave them satisfied with their purchase. An e-book can be the start of an entire information publishing empire. Your initial product can lead you to create further, more profitable e-books or a full e-course and help you build a client database list for future back-end marketing profits. Virtually all of us have an e-book inside of us. Tap into your knowledge and skills and release the e-book within!
