Planning a baby shower is a real treat, but it is important to properly organize everything to ensure that the shower is a successful one. There are lots of elements that go into a great baby shower, so a checklist is definitely in order.

Six Weeks Prior
Start getting the guest list together
Shop for the perfect invitations
Be sure to get complete mailing addresses for all guests
Contact the mom to be’s parents and other family members
Start thinking about the menu

Four Weeks Prior
Mail the baby shower invitations. Don’t forget to include directions.
Start planning the exact menu for the shower. You might want to get tips from the guest of honor.
Start planning the games that will be played
Come up with the perfect theme for the baby shower. Maybe Mom-to-Be has already decided on one for the nursery.
Use that theme to choose the perfect decorations
Start shopping for baby shower favors

Three Weeks Prior
Start gathering those RSVP’s
Create the final guest list and use it to plan the food purchases
Order the baby shower cake
Order the decorations
Create more specific plans for the games
Order or make the baby shower favors

Two Days Prior
Make the various dishes for the shower
Buy the food you don’t make
Pick up the cake and store it in a safe location
If possible, start decorating the location for the baby shower
Call the guests to make sure they are coming and that they know how to get there
Create table place settings and gift tags for the baby shower favors
