Your Baby's Health & You
Babies are extremely sensitive and need to be protected. A healthy diet is the first step to good health. Make sure your baby gets all the nutrients it requires for growth and development. You might not have a clear idea about what is the right diet for your baby. For this, you could always consult your doctor and take important tips and suggestions on baby health and nutrition. Adequate sleep is also very important for a healthy baby. Make sure your baby gets all the sleep it requires without any disturbances. Along with all this, regular checkups are a must. Even if the baby seems healthy, make regular visits to the doctor just to be sure. This is very important. Vaccination is the first thing to be done as soon as the baby is born. Any carelessness here could lead to an impaired or mentally and physically handicapped baby. Get every vaccine that the doctor asks you to administer. Some vaccines need doses from time to time. Make sure you get all the doses administered at the right time or the baby's immune system will be very weak. Infancy is a very tender age and even the slightest infection could be very fatal. You have to be careful enough to avoid all this. A baby's skin is extremely sensitive. Hence, utmost care has to be taken while bathing it and using chemical products. Skin infections and rashes could be very dangerous as the skin is very delicate and still undergoing development. Mothers have to be extra cautious while dealing with such things. The baby products like soap, shampoo and moisturizers must be mild and soft. Harsh products give rise to rashes. Talcum powder applied on rashes is a big no! Ointments are the safe options. The rashes specifically mean diaper rashes as that area is more sensitive. Infants have very soft hair. The hair must be well taken care of. Shampoos have to be used but again, mild ones only. Everyday shampooing is not necessary. Once in a couple of days is just fine. Never use extreme cold or extreme hot water for bathing your baby. Luke warm is the best bet. Also, check the temperature of the water before using it. If the water is too hot and you use it directly to bathe your baby without checking, it will spell disaster. Find out from the doctors what is normal and what needs attention immediately. Keep checking the temperature of the baby. Anything above 39 degrees centigrade calls for immediate action. If the baby breathes very rapidly, if the vomit is green and the baby is cringing in pain, it needs medical help that very moment. If your baby is drowsy, quiet for unusually long and restless, it means something is seriously wrong. When there is blood in the baby's urine, it needs to be rushed to the hospital immediately. A few extra steps for the safety of your child can assure a healthy life. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com Your Baby's Health & You For more tips and information visit baby1.net |
