Your Checklist For Postcard Printing Success

If you are doing some postcard printing for your business, you have to be careful and check a lot of things before you send them to your printer. Color postcard printing has a lot of elements that make it an effective promotional tool. So it is important to have a checklist which assures you that these elements are at the best condition that they can be before postcard printing begins. For those who need it, here is the standard checklist for approving posters in a direct mail marketing campaign.

Image Checks – The postcard image is of course the first thing that you need to check. Analyze the image and see if it looks good for printing. Check the colors if they look vivid and correct. Does it fit the real image that you want to display? Adjust the brightness and contrast to see how you can improve your image more. Also, the image resolution must be checked. You must use an image with the highest resolution possible so that the postcard printing image can look as crisp and clear as possible.

Proofreading and Managing texts – After the image, the text comes next to your priorities in the checklist. Proofread your postcard messages. Check for misspellings and wrong grammar. Also, try and look out for the best layout possible with your available text. Remember to balance the weight of the text with your images so that they don’t look crowded on one side or the other.

Goal reviews – With your content well checked already, now you have to review your goal for your postcard. If you are creating a marketing postcard or a travel postcard, look at your image and text and see if it does appear as it should be. If you have some target demographics in mind like higher class, or older people, see if your overall design caters to that audience. Basically try to determine if your overall goal is really represented by your postcard design.

Mailing list management – With the postcard more or less checked, it is time to address your mailing list. As stated above, you should already have reviewed your goals for the postcard. Look at your mailing list, and see if your list represents the objectives for those goals. Is your target market represented in your mailing list? Are the neighborhoods you are sending to in the right social bracket that you want? Add and subtract from your mailing list until you have a nice, workable and efficient mailing list.

Quality Assurance – Lastly you need to check the quality of your postcard. Always have your postcard printing service print a sample postcard before you go all the way with the whole batch. Look at the paper quality, the printing crispness, the way the postcard is cut and the overall beauty of the postcard. Once you get things printed, do a random sampling of batches just to check if most of your postcard looks right.

Great! That is the standard color postcard printing checklist. Go through this checklist every time you begin a postcard printing campaign and you should pretty much have decent postcards that you don’t have to worry about for your purposes.
