Your computer speed will improve with just a few simple things you can do while sitting in front of your computer. No need for a repairman, or expensive repar bills. And you don’t have to be a computer geek to handle these simple tasks. So let’s get started.

The first thing you can do is simply clean out your temporary internet files and cookies. And you may already do this, but for those who don’t just begin by opening Internet Explorer and choosing the tools menu- Select options- on the main page you can empty the temp files and delete the cookies.

Any of your unused programs can also be deleted by using the add/remove programs utility. And then groom your Windows start up file by using the msconfig utility. You may not have heard of this before, but you simply go to Start\Run and type msconfig then select ok and choose the start up tab.

Never install programs that start running as windows start, like messengers. Because they will be running all the while you are trying to run the programs you want to run. To see and stop them, just press Ctrl + Alt + Del and go into processes tab and close them from there.

You may also turn off unnecessary services in the services manager. Just access your control panel by going to your control panel\administrative tools\services. These are all simple things you can do yourself to help out with your computer speed.

Also invest in a couple software programs that will greatly benefit you and your computer. Scan your computer weekly with a spyware program. And also get a registry cleaner software program. Cleaning your registry will really make a difference in your computer speed and performance.
