Your Free Internet Advertising Can Be Monitored And Analyzed
With traditional advertising how do you monitor or analyze the response to your adverting? You may know the distribution number of local papers. Or you may know the number of leaflets you have paid to be distributed. At an exhibition you will have seen the number of people attending the event. Radio advertisers will know the number of regular listeners they have. Whatever form of traditional advertising you do, you cannot find out how many people actually read, listened or browsed your advertisement. An advertiser will only know who the buyers of their products or services are when they contact the business advertiser directly. What about those that were made aware of your advertisement but did not contact you. What were they interested in or not interested in? An alternative form of advertising is Internet advertising for local businesses and is, not only very cost effective, but will only cost time if the business owner does the work themselves. But, equally as important to the traffic (people) visiting the website is the ability to monitored and analyze the visitors to a website. Traditional advertising cannot offer that service. Google provide analytics for websites as do a website called Statcounter. Both will give you the following statistics: The number of visitors to your website daily, weekly and monthly. The number of new visitors and the number of returning visitors. How many web pages they view and which ones they visited. Whether the visitors are coming from search engines or directories. Which keywords they are using to find your website. How long they stay on each page of your website. Which percentage of visitors each search engine brings. What page the visitor leaves your website. There are many more statistics these analytics will give you and from this you can analyze why your website receives visitors from the keywords they use, what interests them by the pages they visit and the time they stay, etc. This information is priceless to a business. Internet marketers who are very experienced are able to obtain visitors email addresses in exchange for something free like a report, ebook or information. They realize that most visitors rarely buy from a company’s website on a first visit. In fact it is said that a visitor will take on average seven times to converse or visit a company’s website before they will buy anything. Google not only offer an analytic service for your website but also provide analytics if you have set up your Google Maps/Places listing, which give the same statistics as above. If you have produced a YouTube video for your business there are analytics you can view of the visitors of your video. Using the Internet to advertise your business does not leave you blind to the effectiveness of your efforts unlike traditional advertising. Also unlike traditional advertising you do not have to wait until your existing printed advertising has run out before changing it. A website web page can be changed daily if required from the layout to the text to pictures and graphics. None of this work will cost a penny if the business owner is able to make the changes themselves. Once you start receiving visitors to your website you can start to analyze the keywords they have used to reach your site. With this information you can start to optimise your website to improve your websites ranking in search results. The more relevant keywords and content you have on your website the higher you will rank in search engine results. Now that Facebook is starting to receive more traffic than Google it is worth using the statistics you have to set up a business page on Facebook and start to gain ‘fans’ to your business page. Again this is a free service which can give your business greater exposure than any traditional advertising.
